LinkedIn for staffing agencies: more client companies, not just candidates
Recruitment agencies mostly use LinkedIn to find candidates, but the business depends on the companies that hand them searches. Use each consultant’s network to connect with department heads and talent leaders at companies hiring in your specialty, and share market data they find useful.
Who to invite on LinkedIn: a guide for staffing agencies
Invite the people who open roles and approve the recruitment budget.
| If you work in… | Invite… | At… |
|---|---|---|
| Tech recruitment | CTOs, engineering managers, talent leads | Software, fintech, ecommerce |
| Sales roles | Sales directors and general managers | Distribution, manufacturing, SaaS |
| Finance and executive | CFOs, CEOs, fund partners | Portfolio and mid-sized companies |
| Volume hiring | Operations and HR directors | Logistics, retail, contact centres |
How to set up your audience in Reachvite
Values for each tab of the extension:
- Industry: The industries of the searches you close best.
- Job title: The hiring department head and the talent lead.
- Companies: Companies posting many roles in your specialty or that just raised a round.
- Where?: The cities where you fill roles.
Not sure where to start? People like me fills in job title, location and language from your profile.
How many invitations a week?
Two batches of 20 to 30 per consultant per week.
If each consultant invites 40 to 60 hiring managers a week in their specialty, the agency covers many accounts without overloading any profile. Leave headroom for the candidate invitations you already send. This is our guidance, not a LinkedIn figure; Reachvite stops at the first warning.
Example invitation notes
Without Premium you can only add a note to 5 invitations a month, so save it for the people who matter most.
- “Hi Henry, we fill data engineering roles in Chicago and I share a quarterly salary report. Glad to connect.”
- “Hi Monica, I saw you’re building a sales team in Toronto. I work that market; I’d like to have you in my network.”
- “Hi Andrew, I recruit CFOs for PE-backed companies. Happy to connect.”
What to post so people accept (and remember you)
- Salary and availability reports by role.
- How long a role takes to fill, and why.
- Job description mistakes that put candidates off.
Common mistakes
- Using LinkedIn only for candidates and forgetting clients.
- Every consultant inviting the same companies.
- Sending candidate profiles nobody asked for.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the recruiters guide?
That one is about building a candidate network; this one is about winning companies that give you searches.
Can I use it alongside LinkedIn Recruiter?
Yes; they’re independent. Reachvite uses your LinkedIn in Chrome to send invitations.
Does each consultant need a licence?
Yes, one per LinkedIn profile.

Pick your audience and let Reachvite send the invitations, in batches you approve.
Add to Chrome ↗Chrome will ask for access to LinkedIn: Reachvite only works with the audience you choose, never sends anything without your OK and doesn’t read your messages or your password.
