LinkedIn for SaaS companies: users and buyers in your network
At a software company, LinkedIn works when founders and sellers have their product’s users and buyers in their network, and post about the problem they solve. Invite by user and buyer job titles at companies that match your ideal customer, and let content and demos do the rest.
Who to invite on LinkedIn: a guide for SaaS companies
Invite the people who use your software and the people who pay for it.
| If you work in… | Invite… | At… |
|---|---|---|
| Sales software | Sales directors, RevOps, SDR managers | SaaS and B2B services |
| Finance software | CFOs, controllers, accounting leads | SMBs and mid-market |
| HR software | HR directors, payroll leads | Companies with 50 to 1,000 employees |
| Developer tools | CTOs, engineering managers, DevOps | Software companies |
How to set up your audience in Reachvite
Values for each tab of the extension:
- Industry: Your best current customers’ industry.
- Job title: Primary user and buyer (usually two different titles).
- Companies: Your target account list and companies similar to your customers.
- Where?: Your markets in order: the country with most customers first.
Reachvite always adds its own filters: real people with 500+ connections, and never 1st-degree connections or pending invitations.
How many invitations a week?
Two or three batches of 30 a week per person.
In SaaS the audience is usually large. Sixty to 90 invitations a week per founder or seller, spread out, let you test messages and accounts while staying well clear of LinkedIn’s warnings. LinkedIn doesn’t publish a fixed number: we explain it in the weekly invitation limit.
Example invitation notes
Notes are optional and capped at 300 characters.
- “Hi Patricia, we build bank reconciliation software for SMBs and share what we learn from finance teams. Glad to connect.”
- “Hi Hugh, I write about SaaS sales metrics using data from our customer base. I’d like to have you in my network.”
- “Hi Sarah, I saw your talk on internal platforms at the London meetup. We’re building something similar; glad to connect.”
What to post so people accept (and remember you)
- Aggregated product data the industry cares about.
- Customer stories with the before and after.
- Product decisions explained by the founder.
Common mistakes
- Leaving posting to the company page.
- Inviting only decision-makers and skipping users.
- Asking for a demo in the invitation note.
Frequently asked questions
Who should invite, the founder or the sales team?
Both, to different audiences. Founders usually get higher acceptance from buyers.
Does it replace a sequencing tool?
No; Reachvite only grows the network with invitations. If you need sequences, see our comparisons.
How many licences do I need?
One per LinkedIn profile that uses it.

Pick your audience and let Reachvite send the invitations, in batches you approve.
Add to Chrome ↗Chrome will ask for access to LinkedIn: Reachvite only works with the audience you choose, never sends anything without your OK and doesn’t read your messages or your password.
