LinkedIn for designers: get your work in front of people who hire
For a designer, LinkedIn works when the people who hire design (product managers, marketing leads, agency directors) see your work explained, not just pretty. Invite those profiles, post the reasoning behind your projects and keep your portfolio on your profile.
Who to invite on LinkedIn: a guide for designers
Invite the people who commission design in your specialty.
| If you work in… | Invite… | At… |
|---|---|---|
| UX and product | Product managers, heads of design, CTOs | Software and apps |
| Graphic and brand | Marketing and brand managers | Consumer goods, food, startups |
| Editorial and packaging | Product and purchasing managers | Food, cosmetics, publishing |
| Agencies | Creative and studio directors | Advertising and design agencies |
How to set up your audience in Reachvite
Values for each tab of the extension:
- Industry: Software development for UX; consumer goods for brand and packaging.
- Job title: Product manager, head of design, marketing manager, creative director.
- Companies: Brands whose design you can improve and agencies that outsource.
- Where?: Your city or the countries you work with remotely.
Reachvite always adds its own filters: real people with 500+ connections, and never 1st-degree connections or pending invitations.
How many invitations a week?
Two batches of 20 a week.
About 40 invitations a week are enough for your project posts to reach people who hire, without spending more than a few minutes reviewing batches. LinkedIn doesn’t publish a fixed number: we explain it in the weekly invitation limit.
Example invitation notes
Notes are optional and capped at 300 characters.

- “Hi Mario, I design packaging for food brands and share the process. I’d like to have you in my network.”
- “Hi Anna, I help agencies as an identity designer when they need extra hands. Happy to connect.”

- Processes and tools, with templates the reader can use.
Common mistakes
- Posting only the final image without explaining decisions.
- Inviting mostly other designers.
- Not linking your portfolio in the Featured section.
