LinkedIn for real estate agents: reach the people who buy, sell or invest
On LinkedIn a real estate agent doesn’t sell homes to strangers: you build a network of investors, relocating executives, companies looking for office or retail space and professionals who can refer clients. Invite that audience in your area, share local market data and stay top of mind for when they need to move.
Who to invite on LinkedIn: a guide for real estate agents
Your best LinkedIn network is people with buying power and the people who refer deals.
| If you work in… | Invite… | At… |
|---|---|---|
| Mid- and high-end residential | Executives, physicians, founders | Large employers in your city |
| Investment | Investors, family offices, wealth managers | Financial services and investment |
| Office and retail | General managers, COOs, expansion managers | Retail, restaurants and growing companies |
| Referrals | Attorneys, accountants, relocation managers | Legal services and HR |
How to set up your audience in Reachvite
Values for each tab of the extension:
- Industry: Financial services, investment management or the industries of your city’s biggest employers.
- Job title: Director, general manager, founder, investor, expansion or relocation manager.
- Companies: Companies that just opened an office or announced hiring in your city: their people are about to move.
- Where?: Your city and metro area; for investment, add the country afterwards.
Not sure where to start? People like me fills in job title, location and language from your profile.
How many invitations a week?
One or two batches of 20 a week.
Real estate deals are few and slow. A tight local network beats volume: 20 to 40 invitations a week keep you visible in your area all year round. This is our guidance, not a LinkedIn figure; Reachvite stops at the first warning.
Example invitation notes
Without Premium you can only add a note to 5 invitations a month, so save it for the people who matter most.
- “Hi Andrew, I help executives relocating to Austin find a home without losing weeks. Glad to connect in case it’s ever useful.”
- “Hi Emma, I post monthly rent and price data for Denver neighbourhoods. If you follow the market, I’d be glad to connect.”
- “Hi Paul, I work with retail spaces in downtown Miami. I’d like to have you in my network.”
What to post so people accept (and remember you)
- Price per square foot and its trend in your neighbourhoods, with your source.
- What’s changing in local rental or buying rules, in brief.
- Closed deals told as short stories, without personal data.
Common mistakes
- Posting only listings: they get little attention on LinkedIn.
- Inviting other agents instead of buyers and investors.
- Not making the area you serve obvious.
Frequently asked questions
Can LinkedIn sell homes?
Not directly. It gets investors, executives and other professionals to know you, so they call you when a deal comes up.
What about a brokerage rather than an agent?
Company pages do little for connections; it works better when each agent looks after their own profile and local network.
How do I find people who are about to relocate?
Watch for companies opening offices or hiring heavily in your city and add them in the Companies tab.
